Media Studies About the Program Bachelor of Arts (BA) The Media Studies major integrates perspectives from liberal arts, social sciences, and humanities and offers an interdisciplinary framework to understand the essential role that media plays in economic, social, political, and cultural life.Media Studies Courses by Term. In each term and curricula section, you will find the courses that satisfy major course requirements, including prerequisites. These lists are created after the Schedule of Classes has been published for the term and before students start enrolling. Keep in mind that the Schedule of Classes is subject to change. For students not enrolled in the Distinguished Majors Program, the Media Studies major requires completion of ten (10) courses. Students must earn a C+ or above in all classes that count toward the major. The bulk of your major must be completed in the Media Studies Department.
