The tags on my diff's only have gear ratio (4.88) and some part numbers but there is no fluid type anywhere, I have looked three times now. 2000 F-450,Crew Cab,4x4,Flatbed,4.88 diffs. Remove the plug and there should be rear end fluid 1/4 below the fill hole, if you don't feel any add until it's 1/4 below the hole cold. Don't fill until it comes out when cold. Perfect!
