Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve is located in the heart of the Flint Hills region of Kansas. This physically geographic region extends from the Nebraska state line southward into northern Oklahoma and is from 30 to 100 miles wide. Since then, the National Park Trust has donated some of the land to the National Park Service (NPS) and sold the rest to The Nature Conservancy, which partners with the NPS to protect the prairie ecosystem.The two ramps lead from the ground level. The barn is so large that a team of horses could be driven up the ramps and completely turn around in the top floor of the barn without difficulty. This barn measures 110 feet by 60 feet.
