Stalling engines are mentioned at around 100,000 miles. Fails 'low' is usually because of a short to ground. It will pull down the 12 volts meant for the lamp. The TIPM will shut off power to that lamp until the short is removed. Fails 'high' is usually from an open circuit, like a cut wire or gross corrosion, etc. The 12 volts doesn't make it to the lamp.
