You'll still need a rachet with a universal joint thing on it to reach the back ones (make sure the engine isn't going to drop - watch your fingers!!!).8. It is best to use a few threaded guide studs to install the pan for optimal alignment and the least amount of bead disturbance as pan is lowered onto block. 9. Ensure that all oil pan bolts are installed (and guide studs removed) before tightening. Oil pan bolt torque is 18 foot lbs, (24Nm) Stagger tightening. 10.I used a set of small car ramps to do this procedure, it is far easier than jacking up the car on jack stands. 2. Allow the car to cool completely (30+ minutes is sufficient). 3. Start by draining the oil from the pan - Remove the Oil Drain bolt with a 17mm. 4.
