Chevy tahoe won't start
So I have a parasitic draw on my '97 Tahoe that I haven't gotten around to finding. I've just been going out and starting my truck every few days and letting it run a bit or even taking a short trip. It's still died on me a few times anyway, but never an issue to either put jumper cables or a portable starter on it.The starter may not be grounded very well. Run a jumper cable from the negative terminal and clamp the body of your starter to check this. If the starter works fine with this set-up, then remove the starter, clean the corrosion around it and where it mounts, and reinstall it. Aug 25, 2013.1 Answer. It is not a fuel pump problem. It a cold start valve problem. It didn't open. There are 2 things to check. 1- The cooling thermal sensor is not sending the proper signal to the ECU to turn on the cold start valve. 2- The bad solenoid inside the cold start valve causing it not operational. Case 1 you can easily replace the thermal sensor.
