The Commission is responsible for promoting and developing the creative industries sector of the Kansas economy and expanding creative industry related jobs. The Commission is the result of the merger between the Kansas Arts Commission and the Kansas Film Commission, which was approved by the 2012 Legislature.This program provides funding for educational institutions, arts organizations, and community service non-profits to use the arts to increase student success, foster creative thinking, develop critical job skills, and enhance community development.
