Bought this for my GE XL44 oven in Feb 2019 and has been working like a champ since. Like most of us before spending money, I wanted to make sure it was indeed the bad part in the oven. The XL44 is 16 years old and it was slow to come on and/or heat up. (Thus causing gas smell).Hello - I have a GE Profile - model #JGS968SEK1SS - the oven will not light, but I smell gas. I have replaced the igniter (twice) and the gas safety valve, and the thermostat. I am told that if the igniter was not getting hot enough, the gas safety valve would not open the valve and release the gas.Follow these steps to remove the temperature sensor: Disconnect the power to the oven. Open the oven and locate the temperature sensor, noting where it is located on the back wall of the oven. Remove the rear access panel to the oven to locate where the temperature sensor exits the oven.
