Community-based participatory research (CBPR) is a partnership approach to research that equitably involves, for example, community members, organizational representatives, and researchers in all aspects of the research process and in which all partners contribute expertise and share decision making and ownership.*Our CBPR Conceptual Model seeks to capture the context and range of processes and outcomes of CBPR and community-engaged research projects. Each individual domain is important. Partnerships are deeply-embedded in complex community and societal contexts. Partnering processes reflect intentions to be equitable.
