I have been a FIOS internet only customer for the past 4 years. I'm looking into switching my FIOS internet connection from coax to Ethernet. However, my original FIOS installation does not make sense to me and don't know where to start. How my FIOS system is currently setup, I have a FIOS ONT that is mounted to the side of my house.I upgraded my service to 300mbps and Verizon sent me a cable and told me to connect from the Verizon Router to the ONT. So I connected it to Verizon's Router WAN port and I think the ONT's Ethernet port. I am not very cable savvy btw. It's possible there was a blip during the boot-up sequence when power was restored, and the ONT is hung. I was a little upset because no one said i just needed to pull it.. and that was the answer. The Fios tech who was great btw, said that even if i had yanked out the battery, it still would beep so i didnt feel that bad. It is older technology i guess.
