I have a Huskee 22 Ton Log Splitter with a vertical shaft B&S engine that needs to be replaced. I'm having trouble sourcing a new one. I've called around and everyone tells me that I need to have an engine with a heavy flywheel for this type of application. It has the correct shaft diameter and length, however it lacks a heavy flywheel. Bought a 22-ton Huskee log splitter and ran it for 2-years w/o a problem. Changed oil as required. At the end of the second year of usage, the Briggs & Stratton 675 Series 190 cc engine locked up. Was eventually able to pull the starter cord, engine started, and apparently it was blown, throwing oil and blowing smoke all over. Hi there. My old Huskee 22 ton log splitter's engine seized up. Luckily I have another similar spec'd engine available, but it has a shorter shaft. Old motor has a 3-5/32" shaft, new motor only a 1-13/16" shaft. The old motor was coupled with a Lovejoy 1/2"-7/8" L connector with the rubber spider.
