Either way they're great rifles that would benefit from a KNS piston (if it feels overgassed, or you plan on suppressing it),and a great feeling trigger. Just my thoughts.

Depends on your goals with the rifle. Since your budget is 400, I would do a magnified prism or like a holosun 4 or 5 series. Maybe a stock since you'll have to sbr or pin and weld. Then I'd probably get a muzzle device or a KNS piston. Holosun 400 series ≈ 110 bucks stock ≈ 80 Muzzle device ≈ 80 KNS ≈ 120. I had the same problem on my Gen 2. If you remove the dust cover you can watch the action. Dry fire, keeping the trigger depressed. Rack the bolt carrier and watch closely while releasing the trigger. I had to file a tiny bit of material from the underside of the hook part of the disconnector.
