(post-Covid) Pitt still attracts plenty of full-pay international, full-pay OOS, and full-pay in-state students. Schools like William & Mary and UVA offer zero merit (and they tell you up front) to OOS students as well. This is exactly why my in-state S19 chose Pitt.In terms of the PASSHE schools and CCs, $1k tuition p/semester is a good start. But PA remains a really problematic state, geographically, where so many kids are not within easy commuting distance of any college, and this plan doesn't help with R&B. I think they may meet on Tuesdays each week. Every week after that date, they will send out merit offers to a subset of admitted students. Dec 23, 2023 · @me29034 is correct. Pitt’s housing used to be first come, first served, but several years ago (maybe post-Covid), it changed. There is no housing benefit to committing early or paying a housing deposit now. Take your time, wait for other decisions, and then decide. My D24 just received a merit award in her doc center from today's review (10/24). She was accepted to School of Computing and Info on Sept 28. She has a 98 UW/103W GPA, 1540 SAT, and I think 12 AP and a couple DE post AP math classes. Hard to find a school with more research or clinical opportunities for pre-med than Pitt. Every other building is a hospital. My older daughter (2021 grad) was a high stats student who only received $2000 a year from Pitt (cs major). She was subsequently admitted to two Ivy leagues schools, Penn and Cornell, GaTech and Johns Hopkins. I don't think the merit you received from Pitt predicts your chances in the overall admissions process.

If your child could be NMSF then I would think they have high enough scores and grades to where the stats would be good enough to get in anyway.
