Your choice of powder is not the best for light loads. Check the online reloading guides for youth loads. A powder like Clays, XtraLite or 700-X will serve you better. Also, 7/8 or 3/4-oz of shot will give you less recoil. I like WAA12L or CB0178-12 wads (both grey) for light loads in AA hulls.Larry from Cookeville, TN. But, nobody should rely on load data given on a discussion web as gospel. They should go by the loading manual or call the powder manufacturer if an unlisted substitution is considered.D L Marcum.
