Spiking to 25-30 PSI at cold start up is probably normal, especially if the oil pump and engine are in excellent condition. Of course we all know these engines seemingly last forever with the needle barely off the pin.

Any oil with a SN or later API service rating will be a low zinc oil which you need to avoid. These old flat tappet engines don't tolerate these new automotive oils for very long and will round off cam lobes eventually. That's a nice straight lookin D14 ya got there.
